Prayer to Mother Nature
As a drop of water is part of the ocean,
So I am a part of the Earth, my Mother.
She created me, she nurtures me,
And she will receive me when I die.
In gratitude I honor her at this time.
Do you LOVE nature, so much that spending time outside fill
you with spiritual wonder and joy? Do ancient Gods and Goddesses appeal to you? Do you believe that SCIENCE and SPIRITUALITY should not be at war, but rather should work together for the benifit of humankind? Or maybe you don't believe in all that supernatural GOOBLEY-GOOK and simply
want to live life in harmony with the laws of nature.
This my friend, the Path of the Pagan, may be the right
choice for you.
Conformity and uniformity don't apply very well to
the Pagan world, infact, most Pagans take pride in
their free thinking. There are three reasons why
Pagans don't come out of a cookie cutter mold:
- Pagan is a broad and universal concept. From Wiccian to Druid and Shamans to Alchemists, bits and pieces of all their views have been shared.
- Paganism is a spirituality experience rather than a concrete belief system.
There are no requirements of what one has to believe or what rituals one must perform.
- Pagans have various cultural backgrounds and heritages. Also, just because one
dosn't have ancestrial roots in one tradition dosn't rule them out to viewing
those practices.
Paganism is not a place of Dogmas. While there is
nothing wrong with an organized set of rules and regulations, Pagans
believe they have too
much of a potential to
control people's thoughts
and behaviors.
It is wise to keep a journal to
map out your findings, where
your experiences have taken
you and to help make
decisions to live in better
harmony with Mother Nature.
If learning Pagan ways is the road you'd like to take, there are a
few things you can do to get yourself on the right path. First off,
study everything you can from the internet, books, interviews,
videos and possibly even join a local Pagan group that may be in
your area. Second, and most importantly, be sure to EXPERIENCE
your new found spiritual path. Try out some rituals you find
interesting, do some ancestrial root searching, become an active
member in your Pagan community and don't forget to have fun!
Paganism is all about the adventure!
